Fun with Paper Mache: Create a Colorful Mask!

Materials Needed:

• Newspaper
• Flour
• Water
• Balloon
• Paints
• Brushes
• Glitter (optional)
• Craft knife or scissors

Steps to Make Your Paper Mache Mask:

1. Start by blowing up a balloon. This will be the shape of your mask.
2. In a bowl, mix one part flour with two parts water to create a paste. Stir until smooth.
3. Tear the newspaper into strips. Dip each strip into the flour paste, then lay it over the balloon. Cover the entire balloon with four to five layers. Let it dry completely.
4. Once dry, pop the balloon and carefully remove it. You should have a hollow mask shape!
5. Now, decorate your mask! Use paints, add glitter, and get creative!
6. Once decorated, your colorful paper mache mask is ready to wear!
