My Favorite Festival – Diwali

Diwali is my favorite festival. It is known as the Festival of Lights. Every year, we celebrate it with joy and excitement. Diwali usually falls in October or November. It marks the victory of light over darkness.

In my family, we start preparing a week before. We clean our house and decorate it with beautiful rangolis. We also buy new clothes and sweets. The streets are filled with bright lights and colorful decorations.

On the night of Diwali, we light diyas (lamps) and candles. We place them around our house. It looks like stars have come down to earth! We also burst crackers to celebrate. Although some people do not like crackers because of the noise and pollution, I enjoy the fun.

We pray to Goddess Lakshmi for wealth and happiness. My family gathers together to perform the puja. After the puja, we share sweets with our neighbors. It is a time to spread love and joy.

One of my favorite moments is when we exchange gifts. Everyone hugs and wishes each other a Happy Diwali! I love eating special Diwali sweets like gulab jamun and ladoos. Each bite is delicious!

In conclusion, Diwali is not just about lights and sweets. It teaches us to be kind, share happiness, and spread love. That’s why Diwali is my favorite festival!
