My Favorite Festival: Diwali
Diwali is my favorite festival. It is also known as the Festival of Lights. Every year, we celebrate Diwali with joy and enthusiasm.
Diwali usually falls in October or November. During this time, the nights become bright with beautiful lights. People decorate their homes with diyas (small oil lamps) and colorful rangolis (floor designs made with colored powders).
One special part of Diwali is the sweets! Families prepare delicious treats like ladoos, barfis, and jalebis. We also distribute sweets to our neighbors and friends. Sharing sweets makes everyone happy!
On Diwali night, we perform a puja (prayer) to Goddess Lakshmi. She is the goddess of wealth and happiness. After the puja, we burst crackers. The sound and colors of fireworks fill the sky, making it magical.
In many parts of India, people like to visit their relatives during Diwali. We wear new clothes and exchange gifts to show our love. This festival brings us all closer together. It teaches us the value of sharing and caring.
I love Diwali, not just for the sweets and crackers, but for the joy and happiness it brings. It is a time for family gatherings and celebrating life!
