Create Your Own Paper-Mache Elephant

Materials Needed:

• Old newspapers
• Flour
• Water
• Balloon
• Paint (grey, black, white)
• Paintbrush
• Scissors

Steps to Make Your Elephant:

1. Blow up the balloon. This will be the body of your elephant.
2. Mix two parts flour with one part water in a bowl to make the glue. Stir until smooth.
3. Rip the newspapers into strips. Dip each strip into the glue and stick it to the balloon. Cover it completely.
4. Let the balloon dry for a day. Once it’s hard, pop the balloon and remove it carefully.
5. Use scissors to cut two ears and a trunk from more paper. Stick them onto your elephant using glue.
6. Finally, paint your elephant with fun colors. Let it dry, and your paper-mache elephant is ready!

Be careful while using scissors. Ask an adult for help if needed!
