My Favorite Festival: Diwali
Diwali is one of the most loved festivals in India. It is also known as the Festival of Lights. This festival usually happens in October or November. Diwali lasts for five days, each day filled with joy and celebration.
During Diwali, families clean their homes and decorate them with colorful lights and oil lamps called diyas. They also make beautiful rangoli designs at the entrance of their houses. The rangoli is made from colored powders or flowers and is a symbol of welcoming guests.
On the main day of Diwali, we worship Goddess Lakshmi, who brings wealth and prosperity. Many people buy new clothes and share sweets with friends and family. My family prepares delicious dishes like laddoos and gulab jamun. I love helping my mother in the kitchen!
Fireworks are a big part of Diwali celebrations. We enjoy bursting crackers and watching the night sky light up. However, we must remember to be safe while playing with firecrackers. It is essential to wear protective gear and keep a safe distance.
One of my favorite things about Diwali is spending time with family. We visit our relatives and exchange gifts. The joy and laughter during this festival create wonderful memories.
In recent years, many people have started celebrating a pollution-free Diwali. This means using eco-friendly fireworks or just enjoying time with loved ones without any loud noise. Itβs great to see everyone coming together to protect our planet while having fun!
Overall, Diwali is a celebration of light, love, and togetherness. It reminds me of the importance of family, friendship, and kindness. I look forward to Diwali every year and can’t wait for all the fun it brings!
