Fun with Paper Mache: Create Your Own Art!

What You Will Need:

• Newspaper
• Flour
• Water
• Balloon
• Paint
• Brushes
• Varnish (optional)

Steps to Create Paper Mache Art:

1. Take some newspapers and tear them into small strips.
2. In a bowl, mix one part flour with two parts water to make a paste. Stir until it’s smooth.
3. Inflate a balloon to create a base for your art. This will be the shape you cover.
4. Dip the newspaper strips into the paste, then place them on the balloon. Cover the entire surface.
5. Let it dry for a day or two. Once it’s hard, pop the balloon and remove it.
6. Now, paint your creation and let it dry again. If you want, add a coat of varnish for shine!

Ask an adult for help when using scissors or making the paste. Always keep your workspace clean to avoid mess!
