Fun with Paper Mache: Create Your Own Crafts!

Materials You Will Need

• Newspaper
• Flour
• Water
• Balloon
• Paint (different colors)
• Brushes
• Varnish (optional)

Steps to Create Your Paper Mache Craft

1. First, tear the newspaper into small pieces. They don’t have to be perfect!
2. In a bowl, mix one part flour with two parts water to make a paste. Stir until smooth.
3. Inflate the balloon and hold it by the knot. This will be the shape of your craft!
4. Dip a piece of newspaper into the paste and stick it onto the balloon. Cover the whole balloon, leaving the knot free.
5. Let it dry completely for about 24 hours. Once dry, pop the balloon and remove it carefully.
6. Now, it’s time to decorate! Use colorful paints to bring your creation to life. You can also add varnish for a shiny finish.
